our Mission adventure

It was a great day...the cherry blossoms are blooming!
Heather and I spent most of the day together. She woke me up at 630am, and we fell asleep on the couch. At about 9am, she ate squash for the first time...big surprise, she didn't like it. Then we walked to Capilano Mall. We shopped, ate lunch and walked back. The sun was out, but it was still chilly. The wind was blowing rather harshly, and it was a freezing wind. Even Mike said it was cold, and he's constantly complaining that it's too hot. The whole excursion took about three hours. She is soo good in public too. Many elderly ladies came up to us and complemented me on having a beautiful baby boy (she can be wearing all pink and still they think she's a boy). On the way back the sun was right on top of us, and it was so nice...I even took the long way home so that we could walk underneath the cherry blossoms. It was a perfect day. We haven't had one of those in a long time.
Here is a funny, but cute picture of Mike and I. I don't post a lot of pictures of us together. We went for a walk after dinner with Heather, and we had a great time. The sun was just setting. It couldn't have been more beautiful...the wind, the sunset and my two loves.

an update
Heather is sleeping with one eye open...no she's not gripping her pillow tight (that's for all you Metallica fans out there). It creeps me out when she does it, she's so pale too and her mouth is slightly open. She looks ghostly.
My mum came this morning to look after Heather, while Mike and I headed to LGH to get my tests done. It wasn't horrible at all, and I surprisingly finished before 4 hours. It all depends on your metabolism; I was worried we'd be there all day. In the last xray they didn't see anything, which is good I suppose. I was hoping they would find something (nothing too serious, just something) so that they could cure it, and I could start feeling better! When you've had an unsolved medical issue for longer than 15 years, that puts a huge burden on your life, you sort of want to get things sorted out and be able to move on. I'm still having pain in my c-section incision scar. I hope that it'll go away by itself, because there is nothing anyone can do. Oh listen to me, complain complain complain. I'm so self loathing all the time. How does Mike live with me? Oh for those who care, the barium wasn't quite as disgusting as the stuff I had in Halifax. I could actually drink a large dixie cup full of the stuff and not gag.
I think I've hunted down a good marriage commissioner. I just have to talk to her, and see if we mesh well and all that. Once I get that sorted out, all I have to do is find a dress for Heather and myself, and get the menus selected for the Sequoia Grill and Cheers then I think I will be done...oh and invitations, can't forget those. I am also so excited about Adam's wedding. Keiran is coming to stay with us (he shall be our fifth guest that has stayed her...Louis being the first) for the friday night and then we leave for Mission in the morning. I've begged my mother to look after Heather an extra day (the friday) so that we can hang out with Keiran, and just be worry free. I am of course going to miss Heather, and worry about her, and most likely have a panic attack being out of the same city as hers, but it's a lesson I must learn and an adventure I must experience. Of course, I'll be calling my mum every 20 minutes to see if Heather's ok. I'm also excited about wearing my dress and putting my hair up in pin curls.
I really wish Heather would wake up so that we can get on with our day. I have to travel to the Quay to see if I can find a nice shall/poncho. Mike's asleep too, I think he had about 6 hours of sleep, and I had four, however I just got up from my nap and am feeling great. Hurry up baby, mummy's got some shopping to do!

A stroll through Stanley Park

Hey Uncle Louis...this picture is for you!
Heather is changing so much every waking moment. While Amanda was over, we all noticed that she's cutting her first tooth! There's this horribly jagged white knub sticking out of her gum! No wonder the poor dear has been so upset lately. It took her a couple of hours to warm up to Amanda too, which is weird. I think she's making strange now, I mean Amanda has been here from day one! Oh, and she rather enjoys yams. She was actually opening her mouth for yams. Today was pretty eventful! Tomorrow, she goes in for her 6 month vaccinations which I am not looking forward to. She'll be one unhappy camper-pain from her teeth and pain from her injections...I wish I was going out!
We're starting to get our wedding plans organized. I pretty much have the family wedding all organized, except I haven't found someone to marry us yet...that might be a problem and I should get on that. We've booked September 14th for our friend's reception at a local restaurant/hall. It's all buffet style, and dear god I hope it will be good! Adam and Sarah's wedding is coming up soon. I bought a new dress for the occassion. Woo. I'm also excited that Keiran is coming to stay with us for a night, and Heather will be going to my mum's that night...for the whole weekend! It'll be the longest she's been away from me. Oh, now I'm getting anxious.
Well, I've got an unhappy baby and a hungry husband...I should probably go feed one of them. Yay, motherhood!

"The Amazing Book of Jordan" by Katie Sherman
This was a book that I made for my brother's girlfriend, Jordan. It is all hand done (sewing, embroidery...the works), except for the sewing around the edges, that was done by machine. It is completely made from felt...no I didn't felt it myself, even though I should've. It spells out Jordan, and on each page corresponding with the first letter there is a pin I made completely out of felt and embroidery thread (which were all hand made as well). So for example, the "J" page, well the balloon with a red "J" on it is actually a pin. It took me four days. I was pregnant though, and I had a lot of time on my hands. Oh, how I wish I could sit down and make another one.

Heather in all of her 6 month glory! Oh, and other stuff too...

We've been busy since we've been home. We've been going to Mike's parents place a lot lately. I just enjoy their company so much, and they're leaving Tunisia within the next couple of weeks for over a month. Barbara (Mike's mum) is worried that Moo will forget her. She'll almost be 8 months when they get back. I also went out with Lisa on Friday. We went shopping, had dinner and went to see a movie. We saw "Zodiac" which was alright, but it was far too long. When I was pregnant I used to spend a lot of time sitting on my butt (doctor's orders, not my idea) and watching real crime shows and I actually saw many on the Zodiac killer, so I found the movie interesting and somewhat appealing. I think Lisa was bored out of her mind, and just humored me. I don't mind Jake Gyllenhaal, but I find it hard to picture him as a family man, with three kids and a wife. I feel the same way about Tobey McGuire, they just both have young faces and young bodies.

Last night Mike and I tried to have a date night. We were planning on going to see a movie, then we decided to rent a movie and get some take out...then we decided not to rent a movie, we'd just watch one we owned and still get take out...what really happened...we went to White Spot, ate dinner, came home, fell asleep for an hour, woke up and drove to my mum's to pick up Moo. Nice date, hunh? Oh, when you guys start having babies you'll understand. It was nice to not have to wear ear plugs while I slept. I drank to many Bellini's and had too much to eat. However, we did have some interesting conversations on the way to get Moo...like how Ben Affleck could star in Jaws and actually play the shark because he is that strong of an actor...Mike knew I was drunk right away. Haha. Now you all must think I've finally lost it.
Tomorrow we're going shopping for a suit for Mike. I'm hoping for something like Prince's purple get-up that he wore in "Purple Rain". I think a nice fuchsia would suit him. He needs something for work and for weddings...possibly for our own wedding.
Well, I should run. Heather is fighting the sleeping urges...it's not a pretty sight...and she's attacking her monkey.

****Heather Pictures
1. Heather in her high chair playing with blocks.
2. Showing her hatred towards carrots. I love this picture.
3. Heather with Grandpa Munro (Mike's father).
4. Heather doing "bum drops" with dad...one of her favorite things.
